Rugby Development Officer
Calum Forrester was appointed Rugby Development Officer at the University of Glasgow in October 2013. Calum is a Scotland A International and a former professional rugby player with Glasgow Warriors.
He has also represented Scotland at U18, U19, U21 & 7’s. Calum first joined Glasgow University RFC as an Assistant Coach in November 2012 and has since been heavily involved with the club. A Sport Science Student at the University of Glasgow, Calum is also the clubs Sport Science Intern and runs the Strength & Conditioning Programme.
Calum is a UKCC Level 3 Rugby Coach and runs his own Holiday Sports Camps business. As a player he is the captain of Ayr RFC, the Scottish Premiership and Cup Champions.
Callum Kerr was appointed Assistant Coach with Glasgow University Rugby Football Club in the summer of 2013. Calum has represented Glasgow at U16, U17 & U18 and was involved in Scotland Age Grade Training Squads. Calum graduated the University of Dundee in 2013 with a MA International Business & Finance 2:1 and currently works as an Assistant Supply Chain Manager. Calum plays hooker for Glasgow Hawks in the Scottish Premiership.
Stephen Leckey was appointed Assistant Coach with Glasgow University Rugby Football Club in September 2013. Stephen, formerly of the Ulster Academy and Ulster Ravens, has represented Ireland at U18 & U19 Level.
Stephen achieved a First-Class Honours in Physiology and Sport Science at the University of Glasgow in 2013, and is currently studying a Masters in Psychological Studies to become an Accredited Sports Psychologist.
He currently plays in the back row for Glasgow Hawks, where he achieved Young Player of the Season in 2011/12.
This year we are delighted to welcome Glasgow Warriors and Scottish International stand-off Finn Russell to the club in a coaching capacity. After impressing for Falkirk and Scotland U20’s in 2012, he was selected to play for Glasgow Warriors and has gone from strength to strength. He made his Scotland debut on the 2014 summer tour against the USA, and with recent caps in the excellent win against Argentina and a fantastic performance against the All Blacks, we are extremely excited to have him on board.
We are also fortunate enough to have Scottish Rugby Elite Development player Fergus on board this year, who is currently attached to the Warriors. He plays his club rugby for Currie and has previously represented Scotland at U17, U18 and U20 level.
