Match Report – St. Andrews 1st XV 54 – 10 1st XV (St. Andrews, 11-2-15)
Playing on the artificial surface the game started slowly, and after 15 minutes a drop goal from Glasgow’s Euan McKean separated the sides. St. Andrews came back with a penalty and a try to make it 13-3 at half time. St Andrews then grabbed an early score in the second half to move to a 20-3 lead. Glasgow fought back well with some strong driven lineouts that gained good territory, and the backs took full advantage with somegood running lines sending Jordan Carlisle over to make it 20-10. The game remained close until the 55 minute mark, when a couple of quickfire tries from St. Andrews took the wind out of Glasgows sails and left them chasing the game. The error count from Glasgow crept up and St. Andrews took full advantage to run away with the game in the end. The 1st XV have a friendly against West of Scotland tomorrow in preparation for extremely important back to back games against Napier.
