Match Report – 3rd XV 79 – 0 UWS 1st XV (Scotstoun, 4-3-15)
The 3rd XV needed a big result to keep their title hopes alive, and responded to the challenge in emphatic fashion. UWS were dominated from start to finish, and ruthless pattern execution allowed Glasgow to score from almost anywhere. The boys were 55-0 up at half time thanks to tries from Mark Wilson (2), man of the match Matty Smith, Harry Mahon, Calum Cameron (2), Cammy McLaughlin, Michael Finlayson and Jay Brownrigg. The second half lasted just 20 minutes before the referee decided to blow it up, with further tries from Matty Smith, Joe Patterson, Nick Diston and Fraser Waddell. A great performance from the boys, who may even be slightly disappointed as they were on for 100 points before the referee called it a day. A win away in Dundee next week could clinch the league title and see the boys promoted to BUCS 4A, depending on the Strathclyde and St. Andrews result.
